Sweet baby Logan, fresh from heaven, was my first ever posed newborn session. I have photographed dozens upon dozens of newborns in lifestyle sessions, but this was a first for me. I had always wanted to learn how to do posed newborn sessions. I have long been an admirer of the newborn photography of photographer friends of mine so when Logan's mommy Malaena wanted to book newborn photos I told her I would love to try the posed photos for the first time. Since I have worked with Malaena on several commercial shoots, she is the CEO of LashWrap, I knew she would be so perfect to work with. Next I...
I was trying to think of how to describe the essence of Meghan and what popped into my mind is that I hope that my own daughter will be like her when she grows up. Meghan radiates a spirit of confidence, optimism and individuality. And I do mean radiates...after you see her photos you will know exactly what I mean. Thank you Meghan for the opportunity to work with you! I really hope your mom wasn't kidding when she said we should get together for dinner because I am IN! :-) xo, Rebecca
Pure, natural beauty.
And a super fun personality to go with that beauty!
Meghan's...
The Davis Family might not realize this, but I think of them almost every morning when I take my vitamins. Ever since Toby recommended that I take Vitamin D and Fish Oil I've been trying my best to follow through! The Vitamin D pills are just tiny, but those Fish Oil ones are mighty big and a bit hard to choke down! Since the Davis family abandoned our hood for greener pastures and more land I've been so excited to see their new digs! Their new home isn't too far away from the city but I felt like I was clear out in the country with the wide open spaces and beautiful views. Although...
Everything just seems to work out when it has to do with the Chai family! Even when my husband and I got pulled over on the way to their McCall residence the police officer let us off without even a warning! McCall, Idaho was just gorgeous on the day of the Chai Family Photo Session! I am so lucky to have met this fabulous family and to have had the privilege of taking their family photos! Thank you Andy and Lisa for the opportunity to photograph your lovely family! I just think the world of you! xo, Rebecca
This photo above is one of my favorite family photos I have ever...
Carissa and Braxton could not have a more adorable family! My son Talmage and Carissa's daughter Chloe were in the same 2nd grade class last year and I'm so glad they were because otherwise I don't know if I would have met them, especially because they don't live in our school district anymore. As you will see in the photos below, this family just radiates happiness! Thank you so much Carissa and Braxton for hiring me to capture your precious family at this fun stage of life! xo, Rebecca
Just the boys horsing around having a little fun!
Mother daughter moment.
P.S. Did you get a good look...
Kate's photo session in Central Park immediately followed Matt and Phoebe's. (see previous post) Nate and George know each other and, upon seeing George, Nate said, "How was your summer George?" If you could have heard it yourself you would understand why I thought it was the most adorable thing imaginable! Two little mini New Yorkers greeting each other. It was so cute! George is such a handsome little guy and I couldn't help but think Kate looked like Reese Witherspoon! Thank you so much Kate for giving me the opportunity to photograph your beautiful little family! xo, Rebecca
Just...
Once upon a time, in the faraway land of Virginia, I was a young(ish), soon-to-be-mother putting my husband through law school. It was during that time that I met Phoebe. Phoebe threw a marvelous baby shower for me and my unborn bebecita (who is now 9!) and a fabulous time was had by all! This same Phoebe, years later, read a blog post of mine about me watching the movie Julia & Juliet where I mentioned I wanted to get a copy of 'Mastering The Art of French Cooking' by Julia Child. She said that one of her relatives had several copies and that she would send me one. Even though said relative...
This Mountain View High School Senior ROCKED her senior portrait session! Gwen is so sweet and approachable along with the obvious...beautiful! When I met with Gwen and her mom to plan her session her mom was reminiscing about a spot by the Boise River that she used to take her children to play when they were little and that is one of the locations we used for Gwen's senior session. I love it when a location is extra meaningful to my clients and I hope that the photos of Gwen in that special spot by the river will bring back lots of great memories! Gwen, I'm so glad I have had the opportunity to work...
Caleb is a senior rep for me and I photographed him earlier this month on his home turf in Eagle, Idaho! My intention was to only have girl senior reps but when I saw Caleb and his friends performing some funny skits in between the performances at the Distinguished Young Women of West Boise Classic, they were so funny I changed my mind! And then, it turned out that I already knew Caleb's sister Nicole! We started off his shoot at his home and while chatting with his sister-in-law who was there at the time I found out that she had nannied for one of my dear friends Kristin when they both lived...
I loved photographing beautiful Brandi on the Historic Basque Block for her senior portraits. Basque, what's that you ask? I didn't know either until I moved to Boise and I loved learning even more about Basque culture because of Brandi's senior portraits. Basque Country is a region spanning an area in northeastern Spain and southwestern France. From a Washington Times article posted earlier this week I found some great information about the history of the Basque community in Boise. Here is an excerpt from that article by Kimberlee Kruesi:
"Boise, Idaho is home to one of the biggest concentrations...
