Anyone who knows Mindy and Justin knows just how lucky they are to count them as friends. One time when I was in Utah visiting from Texas Mindy threw my daughter Sydney her 3rd birthday party at their house. On top of the birthday party it ended up also being an open house for me to see friends I hadn’t seen for a long time. Mindy made a cake with white frosting and pink and purple polka dots for Sydney and had party favors and balloons. She went all out, just because. Because that’s just the kind of person Mindy is. And when I needed to stay the night in town after bringing my kids down to see their dad they always opened their home to me. I stayed many nights in their guest room and Mindy and Justin always made me feel so welcome. And then there was the time when I was a single mom and had no Easter plans and they invited me and my kids to join in with their extended family Easter dinner and Easter egg hunt. They know how to make others feel loved.
And then there’s their kids. Isaac, Ethan and Abby. They are just gems! Mindy and I became friends when she was expecting Ethan and we were pregnant with our daughters at the same time. I remember 9 month pregnant Mindy coming to visit me when I was in town from Virginia to meet baby Sydney who was just 2 weeks old. I remember the matching skirts Sydney and Abby had and the trip to The Sweet Tooth Fairy in Provo to get cupcakes on a rainy day. I remember going to the movie Million Dollar Baby with Mindy and thinking that it was SO COOL that during the previews I could actually get on the INTERNET on my Blackberry. Yep, that is how old our friendship is, older than Blackberry’s! Ha ha! They say once you have been friends with someone for 7 years that you will be friends for life, and that makes me so happy to think that I am lucky enough to get this fabulous family as part of my life!
Mindy and Justin thank you so much for being the kind of friends to me that I aspire to be. And thank you for trusting me to capture your family photos. I just love ya to pieces! xo Rebecca
Just chillin’.
The Salt Flats proved to make a truly spectacular backdrop for the Hill Family photos! There was just the perfect amount of water to make a giant mirror reflecting the clouds and giving the appearance of a heavenly location up by the mountain tops.
I love that little gleam of mischief in Abby’s eyes! What are you up to Miss Abby? 🙂
I just loved the reflections in the water.
